Auburn approves new fire truck, on-call firefighter program

Board of Selectmen · Meeting of March 30, 2026

NH AUBURN — Auburn's Board of Selectmen approves fire truck purchase and new on-call program. The board unanimously backed SOG 315 for on-call firefighters with 5 PM to 7 AM shifts paying a $75 stipend, with Fire Chief Michael Williams noting the program will roll out after a department meeting. Town Administrator Chris Sterndale and Finance Director Mimi Friolet presented proposed health insurance changes estimating costs at $590,000 if fully staffed.

The selectmen authorized a $797,142 fire truck purchase with necessary outfitting; a state grant reduces the town's final cost to $297,142.
