Board approves police spending, seeks library expansion details

NH AUBURN — Auburn Selectmen approve police spending, ask library trustees for cost details. The Board unanimously approved $113,000 in police department expenditures from 287g grant revenues. Police Chief Charles Chabot reported the department expects additional quarterly revenue payments and discussed plans to purchase one cruiser next year.
Library Director Daniel Szczesny and trustees presented a revised expansion proposal after the original $7.1 million plan failed to win voter approval at town meeting. Selectman Keith Leclair raised concerns about deferred maintenance on the existing 2,000-square-foot library building and directed the trustees to return with detailed cost estimates and space requirements for a spring warrant article.
