Library board defers structural assessment pending budget review
Library Trustees · Meeting of April 20, 2026
NH AUBURN — Library Trustees defer structural assessment, expand hours. The Auburn Library Trustees voted against proceeding with a $14,000 structural assessment of the Griffin Free Public Library, concluding they need to determine whether sufficient funds remain after preliminary tests and engineering drawings. Library Director Dan Szczesny will investigate which tests can be conducted using previously approved capital funds.
The board also unanimously approved an expansion of library hours, adding two hours per week: noon openings on Wednesdays and 6 p.m. closings on Fridays. A step salary increase was approved for Library Associate Mary Hurbric.
