Library Trustees chart new course after $7.2M expansion vote fails

Library Trustees · Meeting of March 16, 2026

NH AUBURN — Library Trustees chart new course after $7.2M expansion rejection. With Chair Nancy Mayland absent, Secretary Liz Michaud led a strategic planning session in which Director Dan Szczesny outlined deferred facility issues previously planned for the failed expansion. The board authorized Szczesny to obtain a cost estimate from Team Engineering for a building assessment, with plans to seek Selectmen approval for repairs.

A Library Citizens Fundraising Committee comprising Hope Garner, Jess Taynor, Michelle Dressler, and Sarah Ginta will pursue public funding to reduce taxpayer burden.
