Selectmen prioritize Gold Ledge Avenue road work, consider sports facility

NH AUBURN — Auburn selectmen set road priorities while considering sports facility proposal. Highway Director Scott Rolfe recommended Gold Ledge Avenue as the top reconstruction priority given winter budget uncertainties; the Board agreed to defer secondary work on Rockingham and Dearborn. Jeremy Wirths and Harry Robbins proposed purchasing a 26-acre town parcel for an indoor sports facility open to the public, citing enrollment growth to 653 students and SportsZone's closure; Board Chair Keith Leclair said the Board would take the proposal under consideration.
Town Administrator Chris Sterndale noted Griffin Mill Bridge bids would open the following day and the firetruck purchase would cost Auburn $297,000 with a $500,000 state grant.
