Trustees discuss strategic plan for library campus

NH AUBURN — Auburn Library Trustees discuss major expansion concept with bond vote planned for 2027. The Griffin Free Public Library Board, led by Chairman Nancy Mayland, reviewed a strategic proposal from design firm SMP that would create a new library building alongside an adaptive reuse of the existing 2,000-square-foot structure as a museum and storage facility. The concept targets $4 million in bonding, with construction anticipated in 2028.

Trustees discussed utility options including solar power, building connectivity, and securing furniture through fundraising.
